Dr. Luis Cubano is the Lead Program Director for the Centers of Research Excellence in Science and Technology (CREST) program that is composed of the Centers of Research Excellence in Science and Technology (CREST) Centers, the CREST HBCU Research Infrastructure for Science and Engineering (CREST HBCU-RISE), and the CREST Postdoctoral Research Program (PRP) at the National Science Foundation. Dr. Cubano earned a B.S. in cellular and molecular biology from Tulane University, an M.S. in biology from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and a Ph.D. in biology from Kansas State University. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Tulane University Medical School. Prior to joining NSF, Dr. Cubano was a program director at the National Institutes of Health and an Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine.
