Carrie Cameron, PhD, is associate professor in the Dept. of Behavioral Science at the Univ. of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and serves as PI/PD for 2 NIH awards: “Building a Diverse Biomedical Workforce Through Communication Across Difference” (with multi-PI Graciela Unguez) and the "Scientific Communication Advances Research Excellence" (SCOARE) faculty and postdoctoral mentor-training programs. Her research focuses on the role of communication skills (both scholarly and lay) in social-cognitive and professional development of research careers and acculturation into the research environment. She completed her PhD in linguistics and postdoctoral training in sociolinguistics at Rice University in Houston.
