Description
This study explores the mediating effects of culturally responsive teaching perceptions and sense of belonging on the relationship between self-efficacy and student engagement in STEM mathematics gateway courses. This study demonstrates that improving student engagement requires an integrated approach encompassing self-efficacy enhancement, culturally responsive pedagogical practices, and strategies to strengthen students’ sense of academic belonging. These findings have significant implications for providing supportive and inclusive learning experiences in STEM mathematics courses.
