Nicole Maccalla is from the Los Angeles area of California and holds a PhD from UCLA. They are currently employed as the Co-Director of Evaluation for the Coordination and Evaluation Center at the University of California, Los Angeles, and serve as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Southern California. “Nicky” has been a part of the evaluation community for over twenty years. Evaluation projects span from large, government-funded studies to Colleges and Universities, K-12 Schools/Districts, and private and non-profit foundations. They specialize in scale development, evaluation capacity-building, and evaluating STEMM, health- and education-related programs, institutes, and consortia. “Dr. M.” is a multiracial, non-binary, first-generation student/professional whose experience with adversity has influenced their social and scholarly commitments to equity. The best parts of their job are using inquiry to support remarkable organizations in achieving their mission/vision and mentoring the next generation of evaluators.
