Conference Activities
The conference is scheduled for two full days (9am-8pm) and will include the following:
Workshops
The first day of the conference (9 am-8 pm) is dedicated to 1.5 to 6-hour concurrent workshops that include:
- Strength based approaches to program design and evaluation
- Identifying and using data sources for evaluation and research for training programs
- Science communication and mentorship
- STEM career exploration
- UI tools/platforms for networking, literature access, and publishing
- NSF Mid Career Advancement program application
- Racial Equity in STEM program
- NSF CAREER program
- Managing NSF Grants

Keynotes
Dr. James Luther Moore III, Assistant Director for the Directorate for STEM Education will be the opening keynote speaker. Dr. Moore’s talk will address NSF’s direction in Broadening Participation Programs.
The 2nd day Luncheon Plenary will feature Utah Valley University and its approaches and strategies that resulted in 398% increase in Hispanic student enrollment and 726% increase in graduation rates.
Poster Sessions
Poster Session 1 (day 1) is a Networking Poster Session that will feature descriptive presentations of programs in the communities for funding, research, and practice.
Poster session 2 (day 2) will feature hypothesis driven evaluation and research outcomes.
Receptions
Each day will end with a networking reception
Symposia and Deeper Dives
Day 2 will feature 2 x 1.5 hour concurrent sessions featuring research on interventions.
Registration Policy: Cancellations before July 15, 2023 will be refunded with a $100 processing fee. Cancellations after July 15, 2023 will be non-refundable.
